New rhythm, new routine — take the time
Just welcomed a little one? Family and Medical Leave (FMLA) can protect your job for up to 12 weeks while you bond and adjust. Contact The Hartford to start your FMLA request, and don’t forget to notify your manager and Human Resources. The Hartford will assess your eligibility and notify you once a decision is made. You may also qualify for state-provided leave. Contact your state agency for eligibility and details.

Free support through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Available 24/7, get free, confidential support through Carelon Wellbeing for support with the ups and downs of parenting a baby or toddler — postpartum adjustment, sleepless-night exhaustion, or the general overwhelm of a new routine — whether or not you’re enrolled in an LSC Medical Plan.
You and every household member get six free in-person or virtual counseling sessions per issue, per year, covering:
- Stress, anxiety, and postpartum mood changes
- Depression or burnout from caregiving demands
- Relationship or family tension during early parenthood, and more
Prefer to text? talkspace.com/carelonwellbeing (enter: LSC Communications) connects you with a licensed counselor right from your phone.
Need more support? If you’re enrolled in an LSC Medical Plan, a Teladoc Health Virtual Behavioral Specialist can see you virtually for just $10 per visit — no driving, waiting rooms, or time off needed. Schedule an appointment at teladochealth.com or download the app.

Update your coverage
Welcoming a child through birth, adoption, or foster care is a qualifying life event — it opens a 30-day window (60 days for the birth of a child) to update your medical, dental, vision, or life insurance elections outside of Annual Enrollment. Don’t forget to update your beneficiaries at the same time.
Medical & pediatric care
Caring for a baby or toddler? Your Company offers medical coverage through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) to support your growing family. A health care concierge through Health Advocacy Solutions (HAS) can help with:
- Finding pediatricians or specialists
- Scheduling appointments
- Navigating maternity and newborn claims
- Resolving billing issues and more
All plan tiers cover in-network pediatric visits and in-network postnatal care. Preventive care visits, including well-child visits and immunizations, are covered 100% at no cost.
Need care without leaving home? Teladoc Health connects you with a doctor 24/7 for a flat $10 per visit, on any LSC Medical Plan.

From diapers to daycare — plan with purpose
Baby-related costs add up fast — diapers, medical bills, time away from work. The EAP is a resource for exactly this, with free consultations on:
- Childcare referrals — help finding daycare, nannies, or back-up care
- Financial and legal services — budgeting, wills, family planning
Retirement and broader money-planning tools are also available anytime through Empower Retirement.
Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
All accounts are administered through HealthEquity. You can find eligible health care items at HSAstore.com and FSAstore.com.
HSA
Available with the HSA Core or HSA Value medical plan. The Company also contributes dollars to your HSA account. Check your Company’s contribution by visiting the 2027 Benefits Cost page. The 2027 combined IRS limit (yours + the Company’s) is $4,500 for employee-only coverage or $9,000 for any other level, plus a $1,000 catch-up for employees age 55+.
Health Care FSA
A Full-Use Health Care FSA (up to $3,400, if you’re not in an HSA plan) or Limited-Use FSA (HSA Core/HSA Value plan members for dental and vision eligible expenses until you hit your deductible) can help cover baby-related medical costs.
Dependent Care FSA (DCFSA)
If you’re enrolled, DCFSA pre-tax funds (up to $7,500 if married filing jointly, or $3,750 if married filing separately) can go toward licensed daycare, nanny services, preschool tuition, and before- or after-school programs.
